I got Dreyfus about 9-10 years ago. He had been hit by a car and was brought in as a stray to the emergency hospital where I worked. Dreyfus suffered from 2 broken legs and a bone infection. My intention was to foster him. However, once his broken bones healed, he had to have another surgery due to trauma to a growth plate that occurred when he was hit. His front right leg had to be re-broken and an external fixater was placed. Finally I thought he would be available for adoption. Just as I thought Dreyfus was okay, he started limping again. Both of his knees had to be repaired due to severely luxating patellas. By this time, a year and a half had passed and Dreyfus wasn't going anywhere.
